Done a degree

Well, I’ve now finished my Music degree… It really does not seem that long ago that I was revising for my A levels! I’ve really enjoyed my time in Bristol, my course and have made some great friends. I came home (Leicester) a few days ago, even though the tenancy on my flat doesn’t officially end until 30th June, because I wanted to find some temporary work. We are going on a family holiday to India at the end of July, which will be amazing, but until then I am at home for six weeks.
I’ve got a job working at a local café, which I’ve done before and enjoyed. I doubted that I’d be able to find anything other than casual day jobs, so was very pleased to get this. Even if you happen to not be home for very long during the Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays during your time at university, I’d strongly recommend handing your CV to local shops and cafes, or applying for any part-time/casual jobs online; you may still be offered some work (plus extra shifts when you return home for the next holiday).
To those starting university in September: be confident, be yourself, but try lots of new things and speak to lots of people. You’ll have a great time.
