End Of A Degree

So in six weeks I will have finished my degree. This has gone by so quickly, it’s ridiculously; if you think two years of sixth form go by quickly, three years of university will somehow still go quicker.
But I’m in full dissertation mode for the next two weeks. It’s due on May 4th. I’m feeling on top of it, and am still finding it enjoyable. I worked pretty steadily on it throughout this year, as I really did not want to do cram it all in the final month (some people do..). Yet it is still quite stressful. I’m discovering that my dissertation isn’t just a slightly-longer-than-usual essay (10,000 for Music); it’s a year-round project where you discuss whatever you’re interested in – you want to perfect it. So coffee and biscuits are being consumed in large supplies, as I keep editing and improving. My approach to finals is, in Mo Farah’s words, a ‘go hard or go home’ approach.
Other than my dissertation I’ve got a recital, and one written paper (most of my work this year has been coursework) – so a pretty light exam schedule compared to some.
Time to go now – need to do some harmonic analysis of interpretations of Vivaldi’s ‘Autumn’ before going for a brunch with my cousin at Boston Tea Party.
Smash those A Levels!
