End Of Second Year

This final term, as usual, has gone very quickly: around 3 weeks of lectures, followed by 2 weeks or so of exams – then technically it’s the summer holidays. I am generally pleased with how my assessments have gone this term. I had a two Schenkerian Analysis portfolios to hand in at the start of the term, and got the results back pretty quickly: 69 in one (high 2:1) and 70 in the other (a 1st). I also had two written papers, both of which involved writing two essays. One paper definitely went better than the other (an exact question I’d planned that morning came up!), but I’m still satisfied that I’ve done myself justice in both. I also had my final recorder recital of the year, which I didn’t think of much as an exam – just a chance to perform. My grandparents came up from Devon to watch, which was lovely.
Since finishing my exams, I’ve basically stayed in Bristol for around three weeks. Although it is really holiday time now, I felt no need to go straight home, as my parents and sister were still working/at school, and I thought it’d be fun to relax with friends and explore the city. I’ve also tried to be slightly productive, keeping up a semi-work mentality until my family are also free. I’ve had a couple of meetings with my personal tutor to discuss possible dissertation ideas for next year, and have also decided on my unit choices.
Everybody says it, but I really am noticing how quickly Uni life goes; 2/3 of my degree is over! Now to enjoy a good summer holiday, travelling with friends and family. Finals loom!!
